Ramens
Internet friends send me foods, I take pictures, document, and then eat the foods. Will be updated as necessary. I will not be providing nutritional information, as per Skatje.
- Kung Fu Vegetable Flavor
I don’t have any pictures for this one, because I ate it before I was told I needed to be documeting it. The flavor was bland, but had subtle flavors that made it enjoyable. The packet of Peanut Oil that came with it partially spilled on my keyboard, but added enjoyable flavor.
- Kim Chi Men Asian Style Noodles
Also no pictures, sadly. I got about half-way through this and the spice became too much for me. Handed it off to my roommate. The color was distinctly red, and one of the packets (there was a spices packet and a dried something-or-other packet, this is the one we’re talking about) smelled like fish food. Eating this made my lips feel like they were going to fall off.
- $somthing-japanese Tom Yum
This was sort of bearably spicy, to the point where I was able to eat the noodles, but had to pour out the broth left at the end. This also smelled like fish food, but only until I poured the water in. The seasoning smelled very good, and there was a distinct lemon-y smell as soon as I poured the water in.
- Kung Fu Shrimp Flavor
This was actually really good. Slightly spicy, but mild enough that it was enjoyable. The shrimp pieces didn’t fully re-hydrate, and the packets before water also smelled like fish food. This seems to be pretty consistent for foreign ramens
- Nong Shim Spicy seafood
I didn’t eat this, my roommate did, and he has a higher tolerance for spice than I do. He enjoyed it, was able to get all the way through it. I could smell the spice though, and it was too strong for me. That’s life?
- $something-japanese Anchovy flavor
This was disgusting. Like, unbearably so. I was hoping it would be good, because of the rice noodles. I guess what should you expect from anchovies right? Anyway, I got about half-way through it, and couldn’t continue. My roommate, who eats everything, tried it and wouldn’t eat it either. STAY AWAY!!!
- Ho Fan mushroom
You have to really like mushroom flavor to enjoy this. It was tolerable, but after a while, the flavor gets really old. Not spicy really, but definitely mushroom flavored. I got through it, not something I’d really recommend to someone who is “meh” on mushrooms.
